SACKS OPTICAL
CLIENT BRIEF
Sacks Optical is a eyewear boutique located in Beverly Hills, California. They contacted us with a mission of creating a cohesive brand image for their look book and e-commerce catalog. We connected them with an amazing web designer that could bring their vision to life with the use of our images. With hundreds of glasses they wanted to capture each pair from different angles for clients to best choose the frame that fits their face. With an option later down the line to use the images for try on technology. For the look book they wanted four models to showcase the brand in a studio and lifestyle setting. These images would be used for their new website and for social media promotion.
Live Art Love hit the ground running and worked within a month to create the new brand images. First working with the client to get an idea of the look and feel they were going for. This included creating a mood board of images. This mood board assisted the client in deciding what tone and aesthetic they wanted for the website. This was to ensure that everything was organized in shooting and that the body of images look cohesive. The client wanted to have lifestyle images, product photography and e-commerce photos.
With a strict budget and timeline. We utilized our small crew and had two shoots over the span of two weekends in Downtown Los Angeles.
LOOKBOOK
EXCECUTION
We kept Sacks Optical involved throughout the entire creative process. Through our networks we put casting up for 4 models. We go through the casting process for the client. Making sure that each model is available to shoot and fits the desired look. Because this was for an eyeglass company. The client needed to approve each talent to make sure that the glasses would sit right with their face structure. The vibe for talent were professional millennials that like to look stylish in their eyewear. Sacks Optical carries high quality eyewear and we wanted to showcase that in bright and fresh settings. That is why we choose two locations located in Downtown Los Angeles. One was a photography studio and the other was an amazing loft overlooking the city.
For locations, photos were shared with the client. We then discussed why and how we would use the spaces and what it would bring to the look of the shoot.
The e-commerce images were capture in our home studio. To give ample time for 100 pair of glasses. This included shooting the glasses on a white backdrop and getting 1-2 angles of each pair. This was then edited within our studio to give a clean image that you see here. With no reflection and a depiction of what the glasses look in real life.
One of the challenges for this shoot was capturing glasses without showing reflection. A lot of times photographers will shoot glasses by popping out lenses or fixing in post. We wanted to get as much in camera as possible. This meant using advanced lighting techniques to not remove the lenses from the glasses. Which keeps the photos realistic in what these glasses look like.
USAGE
The images have been used on Sacks Optical’s website, social media and e-commerce pages. To bring further awareness to the brand. We have plans to shoot 100s of more glasses for their e-commerce site on an ongoing basis. We enjoy the creative relationship with Sacks Optical. They trust us in getting the high quality images they need in a timely matter.
